If you are ever searching for information on child development, suggestions for what to do at home to help promote learning, or have other questions about your child’s behavior/development, this NAEYC site for families is an excellent resource. It has articles with suggestions, information, and research that may be helpful.
“Founded in 1926, The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is the world’s largest organization working on behalf of young children. The NAEYC Academy sets and monitors standards for high-quality early childhood education programs.” (http://www.naeyc.org/)
Although Sunnybrook is not NAEYC accredited at this point, we strive to be a high quality program and follow the standards outlined by NAEYC. Accreditation is a lengthy and involved process, and we have begun to discuss and plan for this process. Part of having a high quality program is parent involvement and feedback, and we always appreciate you sharing with us!
