Sunnybrook Montessori School

Montessori preschool & kindergarten in New Hampshire's North Country

Week of May 15th

We had a great week working on our handwriting and revisiting an old, favorite activity: popcorn words! We picked  “kernels” (scrunched up papers with words written on them) out of the basket and practice reading and writing the words with a small group. On Thursday we got out the shaving cream and did popcorn words and letters on the the tables. Lots of fun!

Some of the books we read this week: “The Peace Book”, “The Very Quiet Cricket” and “Miss Rumphius.”  Tammy has been reading “Charlotte’s Web” to our afternoon students which they have been really enjoying.

The students are working on a end of the year art project of paper sculpture bugs. This week the students have been selecting bugs and began tracing their bug shapes and cutting them out. Reminder: Last day of school is June 9th. All Sunnybrook students and their families are invited to the family picnic @ noon. Please bring a dish to share!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came to the community clean up day on Saturday. Our yard looks great. A special thank you to Molly, Tammy and Brigette for organizing the event.
