We had a busy week at Sunnybrook! We talked about the parts of the flower at circle and enjoyed the stories, “The Maybe Garden”, “The Curious Garden”, and “Miss Rumphius.” Many students enjoyed working with the flower nonmenclature cards and labeling/coloring their own flower.
Many of our students have been busy revisiting their favorite exercises. One of our older students completed the Long Thousand Chain. It was a lot of work, but he did a great job and was so proud. The Long Chains teach linear and skip counting and the cube of the number.
We enjoyed a special Spanish lesson on Thursday with Zeanny. We made tortillas! First we took some masa and mixed it with agua and queso. Then we formed little round balls.
The students chose one of their masa balls to flatten and cook.
Then, everyones favorite part….
Thanks Zeanny! The students had a great time and learned some new Spanish vocabulary.
Can you believe the year is almost complete? I look forward to seeing everyone at the end of the year picnic on Thursday, June 9th at noon. Please bring a dish to share!
